About Us - President's Message
Club President 2010-11 Dr John Havens
Building communities/ Bridging continents
This is the theme of Rotary International for the year 2010-2011
The Rotary Club of Quesnel, since 1955, has been active within our community and in our world community in working to achieve this goal.
Quesnel Rotarians work to assist youth, with our activities in Youth Exchange, RYLA, Interact, and Adventure programs. Service in the community to assist with literacy, sports and social activities are also high priority areas. We work to make our community healthier within hospital facilities, long-term, and palliative care and with shelter and support for the disadvantaged.
We support many other groups in Search & Rescue, Fly-ins, Royal Canadian Legion activities, recreational facility equipment for the handicapped and much, much more.
World community service in disaster relief and the eradication of polio have been important Rotary programs.
We are able to provide these services with the support of Quesnel citizens and businesses in our fund raising with our annual Radio-TV auction, Billy Barker Days pancake breakfasts, Festival of Beers, and Wine Festival.
This year we wish to provide more “hands-on” support within our community.
Our motto “Service Above Self” can help us achieve success with “literacy being a priority” this year in our Rotary District.
Ask a Rotarian so that we can respond.
